"Symbionts" was created as an ironic-surreal combination of the preoccupation with portraits of human models and the sometimes very human faces of historical cameras (the latter previously modelled on the art projects "CameraSelfies" and "ColorLimited: ISO"). While "CameraSelfies" attempts on the one hand to set a monument to these quasi-forgotten cameras and on the other to caricature the ongoing selfie trend, "Symbionts" replaces real faces with the faces of the apparatuses whose task was to portray them. Weird? Hell, ya. Now let’s see how „Symbionts“ master the face swap between camera and subject. Call them „surreal pop art“: „Symbionts“ has been realised with a reprographic, digital color halftone effect (take note of the detail view).

Germany
Photographer and visual artist since more than 30 years; graduated in 1990 in Germany. Longer visits abroad in the US. Various exhibitions in Germany, the UK, US and Jordan; featured in numerous galleries and diverse print media. Art director and CEO in his own design & branding company "vivia". With my series "DrowningSky" photographer I try to work on old and recurring dreams of flooded landscapes and tsunami like scenarios where no escape seems possible, visualizing the apocalyptic moment when my very own dream world is collapsing. My series “Evanescence” wants to visualize the moment of fading away, of vanishing while being all alone and left behind… realizing that the only chance to survive is to change, to metamorphose. "Symbionts" was created as an ironic-surreal combination of the preoccupation with portraits of human models and the sometimes very human faces of historical cameras.
