Asmaa Harimi is a contemporary abstract expressionist artist based in the United Kingdom. Her work focuses on textured, mixed media abstract painting, combining acrylic, oil stick, and charcoal to create expressive and layered compositions. Her practice explores the tension between control and spontaneity, where gesture, movement, and fragments of language emerge through an intuitive process. Each painting is built in layers, creating depth and a sense of ongoing dialogue within the surface. Influenced by music, literature, and emotional memory, her work moves between structure and chaos, silence and expression. Rather than offering a fixed meaning, her paintings invite the viewer to engage freely and discover their own interpretation. Asmaa studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where her work was recognised for its distinctive visual language. She is currently developing her practice in the UK, with works exhibited and collected internationally.
