While listening to “Remember Me” by Fawn Wood, Randy Wood, R. Carlos Nakai, I was reminded of the mountains and the profound effect that mountains have on me. Their staggering size and beauty make me feel connected to a higher power and a higher peace - the same feeling that resonates within me when witnessing the dances of the First Nations people in Canada with their powerful large movements, large dress, large emotions and the statements made through them. After I painted the dancer , I stepped back and noticed the “wings” of the dancer had taken the shape and colours of a watermelon, which is the symbol for solidarity with Palestine. I believe we can protect, cherish, and celebrate all cultures, lands, and resources. Everything is so big. There is so much of everything. There is no need to share one pie. As artists we channel energies through our hands and bodies. Sometimes, the artist's subconscious and “powers that be” take over and say something, and we must let that come through, or else, what is the point? So my whimsical pink mountains now take the shape of something much brighter and hopeful than I imagined, and not “light” in the slightest. The Mountains of Solidarity stand with every citizen of the world against injustice, and they will stand longer than those who threaten the path to peace.

My name is Hannah Jeanne and my mission is to bring fine art into the homes and businesses of people around the world. I believe art is a way to understand our world, and often times bring light to our very own emotions and experiences. Sometimes art is profound and complex like the works of Salvador Dali, sometimes it is dreamy and immersive like Van Gogh or Monet, sometimes it is disruptive and political like a Picasso, and sometimes is it joyful and playful like a Matisse. When thinking of an identity for my art and what I want my work to stand for, it’s all of it. Of all the things my mother taught me, this one seemingly insignificant notion stands out “if you can’t choose, get both”, ‘seemingly insignificant’ because this typically pertained to my struggle ordering food, so she would always say just get both! I am taking the same principal here, and then some! I make art for when you need something profound and deep to process emotions or commemorate an experience, I make art for when you want to get swept into another world and forget all your troubles, I make art for when you want to make a statement, I make art to help you manifest, and I make art for when you just need to smile. I am committed to making sure that fine art is accessible for anyone who wants it. As part of this commitment, you will find various options for fine art prints and originals to match every budget. I would be deeply honoured to have my art grace your home or business. - Hannah Jeanne
