About The Artwork

TransCyborg belongs to a series devoted to transhumanism, which is a project aimed at augmenting the human being and making it a kind of ultra-sophisticated machine that can be improved and repaired endlessly. The human figure disappears behind the technology, each organ, each part of the body becomes like a piece of a puzzle that can be recombined ad infinitum. Here, the concept is pushed to its extreme since, in addition to the fragmentation that can be associated with a biological division of the human body, we find printed circuit boards symbolizing computer science and artificial intelligence at the forefront of technological progress: transhumanism and cybernetics can form the perfect being. This painting is a one-of-a-king piece made in mixed technique on canvas. It combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and around 300 transparent squares in relief). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 87 x 60 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
