These 3 x paintings can be installed together, as shown. The dimensions shown are for one of the paintings only. They are very large paintings (the image generated by Saatchi art showing scale of paintings in a room is wrong). These paintings were recently installed in Windows Gallery at Granar...

Katy Sayers Green is a London-based fine artist whose work explores humanity’s fragile relationship with myth, mystery, and the natural world. Through painting, Katy constructs visual topographies in which mythology and ecology converge, revealing humanity’s entanglement with nature as both a source of wonder and instability. Her practice is rooted in acts of witness, shaped by observing the environmental transformations that have unfolded throughout her lifetime. Her paintings operate as rogue maps, tracing our precarious position within an ever-shifting terrain of climate volatility, biodiversity collapse, political instability, and cultural memory. Ancient stories become both sources of wisdom and frameworks through which to consider the uncertainties of the present and future. Each work charts relationships increasingly defined by rupture, occupying a liminal space between humanity and the ecosystems it inhabits. Drawing on symbolism found in poetry, classical mythology, and religious narratives, Katy explores motifs that have long helped humanity orient itself within time, space, nature, and culture. Forms emerge and dissolve across the painted surface like fleeting chimeras, momentarily visible before receding again into ambiguity. Her painting process embraces uncertainty, intuition, and belief. While each work moves toward a compelling direction, the complexity of its subject matter resists complete resolution. The resulting paintings hold this tension at their core, offering no singular interpretation but instead opening fields of shifting perception in which meanings continually rearrange themselves. Katy invites viewers into spaces of contemplation where the boundaries between the real and the mythic remain permeable, and where ecological crisis is inseparable from the stories humanity has long used to understand the world. In mapping these entanglements, her work reflects both the urgency of the present moment and the deep cultural histories through which our understanding of nature continues to unfold.
