Under the King’s Chamber was inspired by your experience inside the tunnels beneath the Giza pyramids. The dimly lit stone passages, the weight of history, and the quiet resonance of the space form the emotional core of this piece. The work captures the mystery, geometry, and grounded stillness of a...

Crissy Renée Vosahlo is a Czech-American mixed-media artist whose work grows from a lifelong relationship with memory, travel, and material storytelling. She creates large-scale collages and sculptural paper works that blend fragments of lived experience with elements gathered from cities across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Her practice is rooted in texture, cultural layering, and emotional contrast, reflecting a background shaped by Czech-Jewish family history and years spent moving between continents. Crissy builds each work by hand using salvaged papers, vintage newsprints, architectural scraps, and found material. The process is meticulous and intuitive. She layers, sands, tears, presses and rebuilds until the surface holds a sense of history and presence. Her pieces often begin with something discarded or weathered, then evolve into compositions that feel tactile, contemporary, and quietly charged with narrative. The results carry both fragility and strength. They evoke memory without illustration and invite the viewer to feel their way through the work rather than simply observe it. Her current body of work, including the developing series Sensory Archives, explores neurodivergent perception, femininity, movement between cultures, and the emotional weight of place. Crissy’s art is collected internationally and has been shown in New York, Seattle, Miami, Dubai, and Europe. She continues to draw from her global experiences, including time spent working in Jordan, France, and the Pacific Northwest. Whether anchored in a specific location or built from her personal archive, each piece offers a record of what it means to move through the world with curiosity, sensitivity, and resilience. Crissy works between Seattle, New York, and Europe.
