Digitally revisiting the amazing sculpture the Venus de Milo that is one of the world's most recognized artworks and has been referenced countless times in popular culture. The statue is believed to depict Venus, the Roman counterpart of Aphrodite. Some scholars theorize that it actually represents the sea-goddess Amphitrite, who was venerated on Milos. The Venus de Milo (/də ˈmaɪloʊ, də ˈmiːloʊ/; Greek: Αφροδίτη της Μήλου, romanized: Afrodíti tis Mílou) is an ancient Greek sculpture from the Hellenistic period, depicting a Greek #goddess. The Venus de Milo has been prominently displayed at the Louvre Museum in Paris since shortly after the statue was rediscovered on the island of Milos, Greece in 1820. Sculpted sometime between 150 and 125 BC, the work was originally attributed to the sculptor Praxiteles, but, based upon an inscription on its plinth, the statue is now widely agreed to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch.

Award-winning artist Grégoire A. Meyer creates digital illustrations that evoke thought-provoking reactions. His art examines the body in its extraordinary simplicity as a biological, digital and aesthetic organism. He captures the essence of fleeting moments, like a splash of water or a disintegrating face, and freezes them in time in objects that appear almost tangible. His works create a complex relationship between fact and fiction.
