Materials Used-Canvas wrapped around 1.5 inch wood frame. Jelly Bean Colors is comprised of individual pen and ink charcoal drawings that we photographed-uploaded to our computer, layered those images with other still photos and manipulated them with digital images that we created. Work is printed using a UV Inkjet Durst Rho P10 320R printer. Once completed, we add a final layer of marker and a high gloss medium to seal marker into canvas. Wire hanging on back of piece. Our day to day interactions with people inspire us to create all of our works. We feed off of their energy. Our art pieces have the ability to capture your attention...if Alice In Wonderland is the metaphor, our art takes you down the rabbit hole...but everytime you enter into Wonderland, it grabs you emotionally and leads you towards a different path. When you look at all of our works, you see the complexities of the juxtaposition of images. Each art piece is multilayered and faceted, allowing the viewer the opportunity to transport themselves into the piece with each visit revealing another perspective.

Gray and Johnson Art is comprised of two artists based in Chicago, Jennifer L. Gray was born in New Jersey and lives in Chicago. Phillip Johnson was born in Chicago and lives in Chicago. They began working together as collaborative artists in 2017. They created a technical process of layering their works, in which they merged their individual skill sets that included hand drawings, digital art, photography, painting, pen and ink, and etchings. Launching their business in 2019, Gray and Johnson Art, a luxury brand, catapulted them from canvas prints to using other materials like plexiglass, linen, wood, metal and fabrics. What differentiates them from other artists is their urban, pop-art, digital mixed media style and ability to work collaboratively while in a raw and organic format. Since 2020, they have added to their artistic toolbox a more simplistic energy no less powerful than before, by creating positive and negative shapes along with direction and linear perspective that is not to proportion or scale. They have eliminated the digital component only to these pieces to showcase a more verse body of work, adding another technique to their portfolio. The artists allow the viewer many ways to explore the depth and vastness of each piece due to the juxtaposition of their layering technique or the positive and negative space within the piece. Gray and Johnson Art has the creative edge to tell many stories in one piece.
