ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Waiting for the Morning" is a pencil and watercolor drawing that captures the stillness and anticipation of a moment suspended in time. The artwork depicts a woman crouched down, her gaze fixed on an unseen point, conveying a sense of waiting and reflection. Behind her, a small shadow appears to be her double silhouette, adding a layer of depth and mystery to the scene. The use of pencil allows for precise delineation of the woman's figure, while watercolor adds softness and delicacy, creating a contrast that emphasizes the tension between the tangible and the ethereal. The double shadow behind the woman suggests a duplication of her presence, as if time and reality are unfolding, allowing for multiple interpretations of her state. The woman's fixed gaze evokes a connection with the passage of time, as if she is caught in an endless moment, waiting for the dawn that will bring a new reality. This moment of stillness invites the viewer to consider how time can seem immobile during deep introspection and how reality can feel malleable and subjective. The title "Waiting for the Morning" underscores the idea of anticipation and hope, suggesting that each night of waiting holds the promise of a new day. Zoe Lunar uses these elements to explore how the perception of time and reality intertwine in moments of waiting and contemplation. In summary, "Waiting for the Morning" is a poetic reflection on the nature of time and reality, capturing the serenity and anticipation of a suspended moment, where the human presence and its shadow merge in a silent dance of light and darkness.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
