ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This artwork was created in the depths of winter in Melbourne, Victoria Australia where we are battered from strong and freezing winds from the Antarctic. The wind chill factor is very impressive in this part of the world. I was imagining a beautiful Spring full of amazing blooms and this painting emerged. Please see a myriad of flowers surrounded by the cold. I enjoyed working on this piece, very pleased putting the colours down (I love red, pink and orange together) and then forming the many shapes with the dark background. I always paint in acrylics and I use good quality stretched canvas, sealed and varnished and ready to hang (the sides are painted). The artwork is not framed. The buyer is free to frame the painting/or not according to their preferences. My art comes from my heart.

I am a painter, using acrylic paints on stretched canvas. I paint with immediacy and fluidity allowing the emotions and memories to pour on to the canvas. I do not work from photographs or a master plan. The past ten years of painting has been a lot of passionate hard work combined with a powerful need to express what is important. The natural environment is what is important to me and that is reflected in nearly all of my work. I paint landscapes as hardy, practical places that provide healthy habitats for flora and fauna, not as a pleasant view for humans. My view is that the natural environment does not exist for exploitation on any level. I have a direct and immediate response to the destruction of the natural environment in the name of ‘progress’ and 'the economy'. I love what I do!
