Showed at the The Other Art Fair
Artist featured in a collection
Intrigued by the ephemeral nature of street art and the multi-layered look of weathered street posters, the artist is creating urban art with street aesthetics and technics using unconventional substrates. Boxes, shopping bags, crates, and other found objects are used instead of canvas or other traditional art surfaces and form the sub-series "Think Outside The Box". The artist calls it "refreshing to break away from traditions and expectations". Love is a recurrent theme and for his piece two separate boxes of the same size, were scraped to partially reveal the corrugated section of the box. Typography and spray-painted hearts comprise this cheerful piece that brings street art indoors. Framing suggestion in a simple frame, or pin it directly to the wall as the artist prefers to do. Signed on recto. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.

“Now that’s what I call art!” — Master Photographer Roy DeCarava, National Medal of Arts 2006, describing Tina Psoinos’s work. Multidisciplinary Artist and Fine Art Photographer Tina Psoinos’s extensive body of work showcases an alternative view of the world she sees, one that blurs the borders of reality and imagination. Intrigued by the ephemeral, ever-changing nature of the street art scene, Psoinos creates urban inspired art using mixed traditional and street art techniques with street art aesthetics while sneaking in personal references. Her portfolio includes a number of ongoing series that range from minimal to very complex imagery. Works explore female rights, empowerment and equality through pop culture, as well as love through social media. Drawing on powerful imagery, she uses these concepts to also create and develop inspired site-specific installations. Based in NYC, Psoinos has won numerous awards for her artistry and is currently shortlisted at EMST The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens Greece for her Empty Pro(e)mises proposal. Her work is in private and public collections around the world.
