ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This series of three works started from paying particular attention to the electricity columns in Los Ángeles, California. There was something very attractive to me, the way that boxes stayed high on top of the trees with their black thick wires connecting from post to post... Maybe its irrelevant... but beautiful to me... in the end, beauty can be found everywhere... maybe that is what this paintings are really about (and most of my paintings)... I started working on this first one and while I was in the process, different potential paths started to open (as always happen with most paintings)... But this time instead of choosing one idea over the other.. I decided to re-start another one so I could materialize both potential paths....and then a third one when the next decisive choice had to be done... Thats how what was going to be a single small tribute to LA´s electric columns... became a series of three small sized paintings...

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Started my journey in art attending to painting classes since I was 9 and never stopped from then. Although the path has been rocky many times, making art for me is a lighthouse that shines a light over my life and helps me try to understand where I am and where I am going. And if by chance I get to discover any answer or clue by doing my practice, not only it helps myself but it may also those who get in touch with my work and can resonate with its message. Messages that are not premeditated. Just felt in my heart and humbly transmitted. No mental concepts to call for assisted reflections. I think of my work as an opportunity to delve into a groove that transcends my existence. To navigate through it and be at the disposal of the unexpected, of the unknown, of everything that was, is and will be. A furrow of exploration of what surrounds me, of the visible and the invisible. The process, the experience and the uncertainty above the mental concept, above reaching a certain destination. And in the transit of experience, the findings. Findings that many times even transcend my ability to understand. Registered in each brushstroke, in each gesture, in each choice.
