With the onset of adulthood Ekaterina found out the taste of betrayal of a loved one, went through the experience of severe fracture... It seemed that life had lost its meaning, and only suicide was the right decision. But it was possible only to come up to the very edge. Having looked into the face of death, Ekaterina experienced an existential shock, which clarified the new meanings of life. Painting was the only salvation. A state in which the canvas revived was on the verge of losing reality and finding truth. So a series of paintings "The theme..." appeared.

Ekaterina Spitsyna is a young artist who works in the style of expressionism. Passion for painting awoke in Ekaterina in the childhood. Over the years she developed her talent. The paintings were created in different periods of life, but the early works have never exhibited to the public. So a series of paintings "This theme..." appeared. The project is about love, vice, despair and sensuality. Each painting is the story. The story, which experienced by the author and transcendentally shared with her closest people. It is a kind of psychotherapy, which has acquired a global dimension. Works, which were created in a state of altered consciousness, became the moment of truth, the moment "here and now". Events, under the influence of which during nine months "This theme..." was being born, have completely finished pattern and meaning, which formed from the life puzzles. "There is certainly time in life when unspoken is clothed into matter, plans receive implementation and incomprehensible makes sense. The images, feelings and emotions that lived inside me became the pictures - Ekaterina says. - But in parallel with their creation some things happened in my life. It turned out that the people around me feel something complementing me. Our creative streams came into contact, and then "This theme..." drew the first breath." The name of "This theme..." did not have to invent, it appeared by itself. It is from the poetry of the last century. This theme came, all else set aside, and one and indivisible become near and dear. This theme like a knife to my throar was plied. From heart to temples pounding the hammer-wielder rears. This theme darkened day into dusk. “Beat”, it commanded, “With you brow-lines above.” The name of this theme is thus: . . . . ! Vladimir Mayakovskiy At the basis of "This theme..." is not pain, suffering or violence. "This theme..." is love.
