"4.30" Painting

Wojtek Więckowski (born 1984) is a painter and a musician with an international experience. For years he has been successful both in the music scene and in the artworld. He combines playing music with exhibiting his visual works. In formal experiments he searches for relation between forms of expression used in creating music as well as in working on paintings. Being still a young artist he has played hundrets of concerts and organised more than 30 exhibitions of his own art. He creates his works on canvas using acrylic, traditional oil paint as well as black and white printing ink as a mix of painting and monotype. His solo concerts are accompanied by a projection based on his painted works. Apart from performing solo, he also plays with the Warsaw Improvisers Orchestra and many other combos with leading Polsh and international musicians based in Warsaw and involved with improvised and contemporary music scene. He made his debut on the phonographic market with an album entitled "Slyde Guitar" released by MyMusic/Universal. In his music he combines a fascination with widely understood American folk music and avant-garde of 20th century, as well as ambient and improvised contemporary electroacoustic music. He began his art education as a child in the artistic kindergarden. Graduated in 2004 from the National High School of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland with diplomas of painting, history of art and exhibition. He lived and worked in Texas, USA, Germany, France, UK, Australia and Poland. Playing and exhibiting at festivals, museums, galeries, hotels, clubs, libraries, cultural centers, comapnies and private venues. He had two authors` galleries, one in Berlin, Gemany and Poznań, Poland. Currently based in Warsaw.
