ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is my first attempt at drawing a circle out of circles. Each circle is 1/2 inch in diameter. This painting has become the basis for my current exploration in 'circle circles'. '658.'is the 'first' circle circle. I feel like there is much to explore using the circle as a basic form. A circle has many meanings and can mean different things to different people. It has the universal meaning of 'unity' that unites our diversity. A circle is perfect, but trying to draw one by hand is difficult. This image celebrates diversity and imperfection. The paper is smooth Strathmore fine art 400 Series fine art paper. A grid is hand-drawn on the sheet. All drafted lines are visible. The circles are hand-drawn in ink and painted in with gray watercolor. I recommend a white frame. The work can hang freely within the frame for a contemporary look.
