Already a child, Henri Hadida used his penholder in his classroom to carve pieces of chalk. But it was only towards the end of a successful marketing career, with a need that became imperative but with little free time, that he began with stone cutting. The meeting of the sculptor Christophe Charbonnel was decisive in his formation to structure his technical bases and to direct his work towards figurative representation. After several years of lonesome work in the workshop, a first exhibition and the reception of the prize of sculpture was for Henri a tremendous encouragement to continue to create. Figurative sculptor of classical tradition, with an originality due to a total freedom, he is fascinated by the balance, this paradoxical state between two fragile moments. Dusts of unique and intense time, transition between two fixed fractions of seconds, duality of moment and space, this search of life in movement is a challenge and a joy, vis-a-vis the gravity of the matter and the fixity of things. Gross with traces of tools and fingers or polished and whatever media chosen, earth, bronze or resin, it is the subject and the emotion that dictate the modeling and the final rendering, patinated or lacquered. Indeed, for Henri, the emotion felt and offered is the only guide to recreate the furtive wonders of everyday life, these gifts that must be learned to perpetuate. Henri Hadida was born in 1946 in Casablanca before traveling to Europe for engineering studies and a diploma from IAE. For the past twenty years, he has spent all his time sculpting and presenting his work, which revolves around gymnasts, couples and nudes.
