ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired by this "deli" that used to be a butcher shop that could have been my uncle's store in my home town. This is one of several stores in my neighborhood that have endured in spite of gentrification. Besides reminding me of the mid-20th Century, it also stands on a street named after General LaFayette. I love the old hand painted sign that the owner has kept.
