A Dream - A Journey NO5 Painting

I am a Norwegian based artist - exploring the connection between art and life, life and art. I always seek an honesty when I paint - and thru colours and brush strokes, I learn so much about life and how to trust the prosess and being in the present. Because that is what it is all about - moments - prosess - movement - change. Noting in life is constant. I am inspired by the wild nature, the raw winds and crip air I find by the coast, as well as on top of mountains, here in Norway. When standing in nature, watching and feeling the elements, I find a sens of peace. I feel small and overwhelmed - yet a part of something bigger and more important than my self. I belive this is why I have a deep longing for horizons, and it shows in my work. I was born under the northern lights, in Tromsø. I startet my creative journey at a very early age, and painting has always been a big part of my life - something I have returned to time and time again. After years working as a graphic designer, I took the leap and dove in to the wonderful world of art. I find that so much can be expressed through the visual language. I am not seldom surprised by what the canvas reveal, showing what an inner world looks like - dreams, needs and experiences - even long before the intellect catches up. When I am in my studio painting, I find peace. I rarely have a plan - or at least I try not to have one. I find that my true expression comes to life, when I take my head out of the equation and just let inspiration find me. I work exclusively led by my intuition. And while I paint, time and space cease to exist. No other situation in life allows me to be more present. My paintings become an extension of myself - my inner world is given a visual space, showing itself as abstract landscapes.
