Magdalena Sadziaks paintings move between abstraction and a suggestion of space, although they often have an appearance of landscape or underwater worlds, but does not refer to actual places. There are superpositions of levels, structures and paint marks, which indicate by their different consistencies different materialities and so allow references to real seen settings and objects. Almost always something seems to float or fly. In the black and white ballpoint and edding drawings from the series „Glitzer, Staub und Rauschen“ / "Glitter Pollen, Dust and Noise" , occurs through the reduction of the design a kind of rhythm of the lines and elements. Again there are some parts flying and and sliping away. Almost the structures, condencation, and the emptiness seem to be „heared" - a possible documentation of different soundscapes or a memory of them. Since 2011 there consists an artistic collaboration with the Hamburg based sound artist and musician Gregory Büttner. Both artists create in different media compositions, which have a similar level of abstraction and thus suspenseful correspond with each other. Since 2004 Magdalena Sadziaks works has been shown in various group and solo exhibitions in Hamburg, Berlin, Shanghai and Basel. 2008 she was invited by Saatchi Online to take part at the Scope Art Fair/Basel and took also part at Tease Art Fair/Cologne. Her artworks has been purchased, inter alia, by international collectors from New York, Berlin, Hamburg, Tokyo and Zurich. In 2005 Magdalena Sadziak was nominated for the Art Prize "junger westen - Malerei", Kunsthalle Recklinghausen, 2006 was nominated for the „Elysée Art Prize for Painting“ and was Winner of the Audience Prize. 2009: Scholarship / Kuenstlerhaus Sootboern, sponsored by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius and the Forum fuer Kuenstlernachlaesse Hamburg. 2011: Residency in Dresden, sponsored by the Hamburg Department of Culture and the Cultural Office Dresden.
