This colorful abstract art work consists of two paintings (diptych) which are also available as single paintings, please check my artist page for that. The inspiration behind it and the title comes from a quote of one of my favourite artists, Mark Rothko: "You've got sadness in you, I've got sadness in me - and my works of art are places where the two sadnesses can meet, and therefore both of us need to feel less sad." My main source of inspiration is the human psyche, human feelings and emotions and I love to express mine into my art. Even if inspiration comes from a quote about sadness, it is actually an artwork that brings joy and good vibes. Hopefully, when feeling "a little blue" this will make you feel happier :) Several layers of acrylic paint hues, different shapes, oil pastels details and marks won't make your eyes stop looking searching for new elements. Unstretched cotton canvas, unframed, can be hung horizontally or vertically. The single canvas dimensions are 50x65 cm, together they make a 50x130 cm or 100x65cm painting. Please note that actual paintings size is a little bit larger than measurements stated above as it's painted on unstretched canvas, so there's a +3-5 cms per side left blank that will go on stretchers. Also, please note that although pictures of the artwork are as most accurate than possible, due to computer monitors there can be variation to colors.

Evelyn La Starza, a contemporary Italian painter, is a true embodiment of artistic eclecticism, ceaselessly pushing the boundaries of her creativity through experimentation. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Milan, her artistic journey spans over three decades, characterized by a profound connection between introspection, intuition, and the spontaneous joy of paint. From a young age, La Starza found solace and self-expression in art, using it as a means to comfort her introspective and introverted soul. Her journey as a self-taught artist began during her teenage years, evolving alongside her experiences and personal growth. While navigating the tapestry of life, she explored diverse career paths, initially working as an interior decorator and later venturing into the realm of jewelry-accessory design. In 2004, she founded her own brand, enjoying a successful 15-year career in the industry. However, La Starza's artistic calling remained steadfast. Fueled by a deep-seated passion for painting, she eventually realized that the time had come to fully immerse herself in her true artistic pursuit. This pivotal moment marked a transition from a successful career in design to the world of canvas and pigments. Evelyn La Starza's art is a celebration of the spontaneous joy of using paint, a visceral expression of emotions and inner visions conveyed through a vibrant interplay of colors and shapes. Her introspective and intuitive approach to painting creates a dynamic connection between the canvas and the artist's psyche, allowing viewers to experience the rich tapestry of her emotions. Currently residing in Milan, whenever possible, Evelyn escapes in places surrounded by nature where draws inspiration: nature, with its ever-changing hues and textures, serves as one of her primary muses. Beyond the natural world, she delves into the complexities of the human psyche, exploring the vast spectrum of emotions and feelings, all of which find expression in her art. La Starza's artistic influences are as diverse as her own work, with notable names such as Willem De Koonig, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell, Jean Michel Basquiat, and Jean Dubuffet shaping her creative landscape. Their influence is evident in the dynamism and depth present in her paintings, each stroke echoing the echoes of these masters while maintaining a distinct and original voice.
