Batik on cotton fabric (93x78cm / 36,6x30,7in) The work is framed (100x70cm / 39,4x27,6in) and ready to hang. Railway Journal - Diploma 2008 Batik is a technique of hand-dyeing fabrics.The parts of the fabric which are not intended to be dyed are covered with melted wax. One may use a mixture of beeswax and paraffin wax. The beeswax will hold to the fabric, whereas the paraffin wax will allow cracking.The wax is removed in the final stage by batik paintings were created in a series of dying, drying waxing steps. Marta Zamarska is an emerging Polish artist and the runner-up of Back to Nature Showdown on Saatchi Art with her painting that judge Ged Quinn described as “Monet meets Edward Hopper”. Her painting "A Railway Impression II" was exhibited in the Saatchi gallery in London. Marta Zamarska is one of 12 artists included in Invest in Art Part II on Saatchi Art. She was also featured in the Best of 2013 on Saatchi Art. Her works are in numerous private collections in Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Italy, Canada, the UK, USA, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait, as well as in the private collection of the German Ambassador. The artist comes from Ustron and likes mountains and mountain cycling. She trained modern dance for many years and this subject is another inspiration for her artistic creation. In 2007 she took part in Solo&Duo Dance Festival.
