Influenced by her American upbringing and Pakistani heritage, Award-Winning visual artist and Arabic Calligrapher Mariam Rajput explores themes rooted in cultural memory, sacred geometry, and visual storytelling from the Islamic world. Her work merges abstract and modernist techniques with the intricate traditions of Islamic Illumination, arabesque design, and classical calligraphy, offering a unique visual dialoge between heritage and innovation. Rajput is a Ph.D Candidate in Clinical Psychology, born and raised in the United States. Her perception of art incorporates a dynamic message meant to span across diverse culteral backgrounds and levels of perceptive thought. Rajput's work has been recognized for it's impact on both the arts and community engagement. In recognition of her positive influence on her community and philanthropic efforts, Rajput was honored with the Women's Empowerment Award from WomanUp! in Philadelphia in 2018 and was named a 2023 Rising Star by the American Pakistan Foundation's 'Women Who Soar' Initiative. Rajput's work has been commissioned by private organizations to help raise funds for programs supporting violence, educational equity, and religious tolerance. Her art has been featured in a range of private and corporate collections, including for members of Middle Eastern royal families, the British Private Collective and numerous collections within the United States, Canada and Internationally.
