My love for arts and craft began at the aged of 10 years and I have been a passionate artist for most of my life. Where I am currently: I am an abstract, textural artist working in mix media for the past 10 years. I constantly strive to improve my paintings to make them more marketable and challenge myself to improve my techniques. By constantly looking for new ideas by attending workshops. AT ABOUT 15 YEARS I ATTENDED RUTH PROWSE ART SCHOOL IN CAPE TOWN AND THIS IS WHEN MY TRUE ART CAREER BEGAN, WE DID DRAWING IN PASTELS & CHARCOAL, AT THE TIME MY ART WAS DISPLAYED AT EXHIBITIONS. WHAT FASCINATED ME THE MOST WAS LEARNING TO DO ETCHING, I LOVE WORKING & ETCHING INTO THE METAL. THIS INSPIRED ME AS TO WHERE I AM TODAY, I `ETCH' INTO METAL AND INSERT THESE `SOFT METAL' SHEET IN CUT OUT DESIGNS INTO MY PAINTINGS. I HAVE HAD 4 SOLO EXHIBITION IN CAPE TOWN AND I HAVE SOLD MANY OF MY PAINTING, I HAVE ALSO TAKEN PART IN MANY GROUP EXHIBITION. MY PAINTINGS ARE IN MANY GALLERIES IN CT AND UP THE EAST COAST. I have always been involved in art projects in one or another from, and continuously looking for new and exciting possibilities. My attitude is that "life is never at a standstill." Some of the mediums and technique which I enjoy working with are: Silver Metal (light weight)˜antiquing, distressing, translucency and calligraphy are part of this effect, and I more drawn to using neutral or pastel color palette. My inspiration comes from the environment, in its many forms, and my artwork expresses the very essence of myself as an artist. It is constantly evolving and very exciting with it's endless range of new possibilities. I AM TRULY LIVING MY DREAM AS AN ARTIST AND MY SANCTUARY IS MY STUDIO!
