A welcome visitor Painting

I am an interdisciplinary artist working in a variety of fields and mediums, currently exploring painting as identity praxis. The trope of the artist is a reciprocal performative activity, not least when producing meaningful and contemporary work. My painting draws from modernist and postmodernist traditions of Expressionism, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Dada, and in its 'antiperfectionist' approach produces what could be known as the New new neurotic realism. In other fields I produce expedient and humourous art videos, photography which often veers into the new topographical territory commonly held by William Egglestone and latterly Peter Fraser, and works of fiction and poetry in which identity praxis is still at play, enjoying and exploring the role of the writer. This has led to DIY publishing as art practice, as much of my work has been too experimental to find home in a conventional publishing setting. I am interested in zine culture. I believe in taking on any challenge I see fit and expressing myself in a variety of ways.
