Abstract # 11 Painting

John Eastman is an abstract minimalist painter and mixed media installation artist. In addition to his painting studio practice, he designs and builds organic and industrial furniture out of wood and metal for . He currently works in several studios in Pittsburgh, PA. Artistic influences include musical artists Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Bjork, Sigur Ros, and Dead Can Dance. Architect Rem Koolhaas, and movie director Stanley Kubrick. Traditional artistic influences include Gerhard Richter , Kandinsky, DeKooning, Donald Judd, Anselm Kiefer, Mark Rothko and Sean Scully. Exhibits include Percolate Gallery, Panza Gallery Pittsburgh, Gallery Chiz, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Austerity and Self-Sustainability at FE Gallery, WOOD exhibit at the Elan Fine Art Gallery Sewickley PA, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh Annual at The Carnegie Museum of Art and The Andy Warhol Museum.
