Abstract Intersections 2203 (Diptych) Painting

In this work, I discussed the sculptural aspects of painting - or the pictorial aspects of sculpture - by highlighting light, texture and three-dimensionality. I am occupied with the deconstruction of the materiality of the painting. The material aspect of the painting is crucial for me. I experiment with various structures using mixed media to achieve the painting as a concept. Rather than just painting the panel, I question the sculptural aspects of painting with overlapping layers, paints, plaster, textures and three-dimensional structures. I want the light from outside to be a part of the painting as an entity; depending on the light, it can be felt that the painting also changes and turns into a living being. As a result; The spatial features of the volume-creating painting function as a real presence in the viewer's space at the intersection of painting and sculpture.
