Juanita Dean

Juanita Dean is an American born artist and writer. 2018 saw her travel to France as Artist-in-Residence at Chateau Orquevaux, where she received the Denis Diderot A-i-R Grant. The experience has led to her expanding her painting to include large canvas works. Juanita works with acrylics, acrylic medium, charcoal and ink on both paper and canvas; drawing inspiration from her many travels both at home and abroad. She returned to Chateau Orquevaux in February, 2023 for her second residency where she focused on abstract art as well as screenwriting. Juanita was Artist-in-Residence at Chateau Bosgouet in Bosgouet, France in June 2021. During that time she created a new body of works influenced by the Normandy countryside, Monet's Garden, Paris and beyond.
