Acrylic painting , Original Artwork of “Abstract magpies in the woodlands “ by Moira Briel This artwork was painted with a acrylic pallet on a 61cm by 45.50cm stretched canvas with a depth of 1.5cm on a acrylic canvas and a protective coat of (gloss) varnish has been applied to seal the acrylic paints and ensure the work stays looking its best for a life time Sometimes, being an artist means exploring and having fun with something that is different. Here I explored the blossoms of a eucalyptus tree in a abstract form using somewhat of a design for this . Exploring the shapes of the leaves and trees I was delighted with the intensity of all the colours I used in this composition The abstract comes together with all the white eucalyptus trees and it’s pink and white flowers blooming with its the woody gum nuts fruits. I used light and dark blues on the leaves , browns, oranges and greens to light up the woodlands with vibrancy, adding circles and stripes and dots to make the trees stand out and display themselves as winding and elongated trees swaying in the wind . The background is sectioned with pale colours near the magpies so they became the focal point of the painting and the darker colours by the trees drawing your eye to the deeper colours of the forest trees . Balls of fluffy clouds in the background give it that softer look .
