ABOUT THE ARTWORK

After a long trip to Crimea, I fell in love with natural colors: gray, mustard, brown, shades of blue and green, fig color, sea color. Now I'm re-experimenting with color pairs, I'm wondering what state they give. Green - for me it is the color of trees and grass, it is calm, silence, abundance, happiness, it is the scent of Ray Bradburry's dandelion wine. Black is a mystical color - this is the absence of light - the color of darkness from which everything was born. Is this the original source? Black is a depth that cannot be expressed in words, it is a mystery, it is Zen, this is what Malevich showed in his "Black Square", which he exhibited in the red corner as an icon. Therefore, the emotional power of the black color is enormous, without it anywhere! Green and black are a very powerful combination. The shape that turned out here is inspired by nature - mountain rivers, splashes, jellyfish in the sea, special air at the height of the clouds...

Natalia Terebinova born in 1986, in USSR, she graduated from Base Art School and High School of Graphic Design in Togliatty. "I paint the states inside me – a whirlwind, a dance, a storm, a balance, a passion. This is my inner world, where I can do wonderful trips. All these states are present in nature, actually, nature consists of abstract patterns, as you can see just looking around. I paint through meditation, I put my inner states on the canvas. At university, I created a lot of abstracts, just like a play with color and paper, and my emotions... it was not serious – just like a game. Now abstraction for me is a pure improvisation act that comes from a deep deep mysterious place and it's a beauty and a power. Abstract art is a very naked art."
