Acid Rainy Day Painting

In this piece I worked on wood applying paint with non-traditional tools. I typically prefer to work on rigid foam, thin plywood panels , or paper for a smooth, flat, stable, light-weight surface rather than the texture and flexibility of stretched canvas. I make my frames from new, re-purposed hardwood flooring. I build layer after layer to achieve abstract complexity and depth. I hope the viewer's eyes will wander over the surface as if looking through a microscope or telescope viewing the details in the foreground and background.
