Ada Lovelace Painting

Ada Lovelace and one of her famous quotes! I used acrylic paint and recycled fabric and paper, in accordance to my sustainability journey in art. This painting depicts Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace, better known as Ada Lovelace, was an English mathematician and writer who is widely considered to be the world's first computer programmer. Her historical garment is contrasted by modern typography, with one of her iconic quotes. Intertwined in the depiction of her clothes are authentic magazine cuttings from the late 1900s. Lovelace's contributions to the development of computing were groundbreaking and far-reaching. Her notes on the Analytical Engine anticipated many of the key concepts of modern computing, including the idea that computers could be used for much more than just mathematical calculations. She also predicted that computers could be used to create music, produce graphics, and even compose original works of literature.
