Addiction Painting

Art entered my life in its own way. From childhood onwards, I would visit the art studios of Yerevan with my father, and I was surrounded at home by catalogues of art history and modernist painting. The desire to paint became a vital element of my life, a way to express my youthful emotions by running my impressions of the surrounding world through myself.   That period did not last long, a few years only, before I moved to Moscow to study at the Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO), and I went on to a successful diplomatic career, achieving the rank of Attaché and Third Secretary. Nevertheless the works I created in my early youth became part of a very individual and very sincere world of images, where feelings are easily and naturally transformed into the movement of colour and light. These works were shown at an exhibition and, as the future would show, the paintings laid an essential foundation for the creative path to which I would return with a new understanding, both of my own works and my sense of contemporary art as a whole.
