"I fell in love with this hot red. It's so Africa. Sitting in the Etosha desert in 40 degrees with one sparse acacia in the distance, you truly feel Africa. That and the lions we'd just past on the dust road." The artist uses symbols of African origin in the background of the work. Each symbol conveys a message of hope into the hanging environment. They mean things such as "perseverance," "hope," "love" "a good marriage," "creativity," etc.
