The incredible beauty of African women is not celebrated as it should it major or minor arts. I believe the uniqueness of their style, class and cultural identity can only be depicted with artwork. I used home made sodium bicarbonate textures, layered with acrylic colours. The first layers are more abstract execution, using green, blue and yellow as base colours, suggesting the African green surroundings and wild nature. Then I layered the figure with some striking acrylic vivid colours to brings out the character in a symbolic way, focusing on the head, where many African women are blessed with thick and docile hair or all kinds of colourful head covers and scarfs
