At the time of Anthropocene the insects left the land and went to the bottom of the ocean in big yellow spheres. There, they waited for the times to change. Meanwhile on land the industrial age has ended and humans left the earth. Perhaps gone extinct, or left, or changed beyond recognition. Cities, factories, and farms were left to the mercy of entropy. Glaciers thawed and froze, tectonic plates shifted, continents grew apart and reconnected. Plants and animals kept evolving, and so did some of the human creations. And one day (or year, or millennium) the insects started to come back. The yellow spheres are now rising from the depths, their walls dissolving in the sun, and billions of insects flow onto the land.
