I create scenes where emotions dwell—moments suspended between reality and something just beyond. Through a language of hyperrealism, I quietly portray the emotional topography of modern life, where things appear familiar yet subtly surreal. These are not depictions of fantasy as escape, but invitations to revisit the emotional truths we’ve set aside. In a world where unfulfilled desires, misunderstood feelings, and unresolved emptiness often define our experience, we dream—not to escape, but to endure. My work seeks to materialize those dreams into visual form and gently return them to reality. I use precise realism to capture the surface of the world while introducing a sense of emotional dissonance through manipulated scale, softened light, and unexpected spatial relationships. Recurring motifs include adolescent girls, companion animals, and fragments of ordinary urban life—street corners, crosswalks, playgrounds. The girl figure is not a character, but a mirror: suspended between adolescence and adulthood, she represents the incomplete self that modern individuals carry within. She stands for the vulnerable space between societal expectation and personal emotional maturity. Beside her are animals—oversized, yet tender presences. Each one embodies an emotional need: dogs symbolize relationship and trust, ornamental fish suggest hope, and cats represent self-worth. Their exaggerated scale serves to visually articulate the weight and significance of those inner states. They are not just companions but emotional anchors—unspoken presences that offer comfort and reflection. Light in my work is not merely illumination—it is an emotional medium. Drawing from digital visual language—lens flares, bokeh, halos, atmospheric blur—I retranslate it into paint to express the subtleties of memory and longing. The light connects disparate elements: the real and the surreal, the subject and the viewer, past and present. The locations I paint are not fantastical. They are drawn from everyday life: familiar but recontextualized. In these recognizable spaces, subtle distortions invite viewers to project their own emotional narratives. The realism invites immersion, while the atmosphere suggests memory—blurry, tender, and open to interpretation. I do not illustrate emotion; I suggest it. Through the tension of a hand, a sidelong glance, or a figure leaning into shadow, I try to evoke the feeling rather than explain it.
