ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is painted on canvas stretched on wood stretcher bars. It is 30" x 30". I'm inspired by Western Americana, cowboys, ranching, cactus, road trips, Airstream trailers, mid-century neon signs and architecture, atomic design and fabrics of the 1950's and 1960's. My intention is to bring a bygone era to life while honoring the fallacies of our collective memories. I am exploring the intersection between documentary and fiction, specificity and approximation and the many incongruities pervading and our history and it’s cultural biases towards our revered American archetypes.
