Afterthought Painting

Afterthought features beautiful layers of blue, purple, and white, creating a stunning, emotional and energetic abstract. Afterthought's large size and exquisite color palette make it a must-have for any art collector or interior decorator. My paintings have a history within them. I build layer after layer of mark-making, paint strokes, and glazes, covering and discovering with each layer. This creates richness and depth. Every time you look at this painting, you discover more. To create my paintings, I start with automatic drawing with graphite to activate the canvas. Then my first layer of paint, followed by mark-making, Reacting to what I see on the canvas, I start another layer of paint. Turning the canvas to get a different view, another layer is added. Automatic drawing with oil pastels, crayon, charcoal, and graphite is followed by veiling parts and emphasizing other parts. I rotate the canvas again and again until many layers have been added, continually checking for values and composition until the painting is complete.
