Agoraphobia Painting

This artwork is a part of my new collection I'm making for a big show I'll have in June 2023 in Slovenia. The story behind is about new age psychological problems people have due to capitalism (too much working and less self care) and pandemics. Agoraphobia is a fear of being in situations where escape might be difficult or that help wouldn't be available if things go wrong. Many people assume agoraphobia is simply a fear of open spaces, but it's actually a more complex condition. The painting is showing the connection between the crowded, anxious place and the opposite, empty and fearless space. Some kind of jin - jang connection. My goal was to create similar feeling to the audience - to make them uncomfortable but also to admire the artwork at the same time. Hope that goal was accomplished.
