About The Artwork
The gesso panel was prepared by hand 'old fashion style' with the layering of gesso and then sanding back. An additional layering of gesso (textured in parts) was added and helped indicated and composed the piece in process. Using vibrant oil paint and then a subtle layering of glazes, to give definition to surface whilst providing depth in contrast. Water. landscapes and voyeurism re-occur in my abstracts and I believe these recent ones have been influenced with my time spent in Spain.
