Airly Painting

These are my legs from 15 years ago, supported on the window frame of our room in the student dormitory in Budapest. We were living in this room together with my best friend for a year and she took the photo, that was a reference for my painting. We drank litres of wine, ate a lot of pickled cucumbers (if something will stop functioning in our bodies when we are old, I know it's because we ate too many pickles) we smoked a lot of cigarettes (because this cannot be the reason) and often we skipped classes staying in the room watching twin peaks. It might sound like a completely careless and easy time but actually we had our fears already and we were trying to figure out stuff about ourselves and about the world. Still when I think of this time and this photo, first thing that come to my mind is: youth. Ps. We drink less wine now and eat fewer pickled cucumbers but we are still trying to figure out ourselves and the world. I hope somebody who is looking at the painting will experience this careless, airly feeling. It's painted on a MDF wood with oil paint. In my paintings I love to use intense colours that represent shades.
