Alessia n.4 – Faces - Oil on linen 30x40x2cm (11.8x15.7x0.8in) 2020, ready to hang. SOLD, private collection, Koln, DE. “Alessia n.4” is a small portrait which I painted to add a new and fresh artwork to the series “Faces”. I painted it using a photograph which I shot several years ago to Alessia, a friend of mine who works as an actress and is particularly good in making interesting and realistic facial expressions. This painting is an oil on linen with a bright, green background which reflects the green in the eyes of the model. It is painted using top class materials in an interesting mix of accurate and gestural brush strokes. “Alessia n.4” is a 30x40 portrait ready to hang. In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours. Some of my paintings are currently part of private collections in Italy and abroad. Awards: 2023 Finalist, Artfinder Creative Contest - Unity Competition, Online. 2017 Mulieribus, 4th edition.
