Alfred Painting

This is Alfred. He is a caring and thoughtful giraffe, and genuinely means well. He tends to spend most of his time oblivious of the world with his head in the clouds which can cause some awkward moments in the animal kingdom. At the end of the day, there is nothing Alfred wouldn't do for a friend, and although rather clumsy, he tries his best. Everybody loves Alfred. He is the first of 5 paintings in my series "Spotted" and I was inspired by this image due to the way the light touches his fur and the sweet simple expression on his face. Alfred is shipped fully stretched and ready to hang. I used the best canvas I could find and stretched it on heavy duty stretcher bars for the best finish possible. The texture of the canvas is allowed to show through in some areas, where in other areas have thick lumpy application of paint - the best part of an original painting! The closer you get to the image, the more of the paint you can see, it feels cared for, like someone has poured their heart into every detail.
