Alexander Bravo was born in Los Angeles, California and found he loved to draw at an early age. At the end of 9th grade, his school tired of his drawing in every classroom, decided to have him attend some other school. Again the next school felt the same way. Until he ended up at school number three. There he was encouraged to participate in a citywide Art Competition. He was awarded first place and given a Scholarship to attend the renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He was sixteen years old. At eighteen he fell in love with the idea of living and studying in Italy. He knew, he needed work in that part of the world to take him there. So, he joined US NATO in Vicenza, Italy, left Art Center and moved to Vicenza. There, he lived his dream, with the beautiful backdrop of Palladian Architecture. When he wasn't working, he could pursue he Art studies. With NATO, Alexander routinely worked in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, England and Belgium. So, he spent his off time drawing and painting the wonderful cities, towns and people he encountered on his travels. After three years in Europe, he returned to California and Art Center. He remained in Los Angeles for 10 years. During that time he worked in film doing everything from lighting to props for companies like, Angstrom Stage Lighting, United Artist and even Gower Studio's. Since then he shaped a career out of being creative. He has been employed as the key creative or art director for various Ad Companies and Communication Art Agencies projects. His personal favorite mediums are sculpture, painting, theatre and film. All of which have their own special way of communicating light. His work involves strong color, which takes you away and into his gentle world of far off places that seem to invigorate and invite you to stay and enjoy his special world of light.
