Aimeth Aguilar’s work explores transformation, emotion, resilience, and healing through figurative abstraction, abstract expressionism and collage. In her paintings, vulnerability takes precedence over external beauty, expressed through layered colors and rich textures that mirror life’s constant changes. Each face and fragment becomes a metaphor for loss, reconstruction, and resilience—inviting viewers to connect with their own emotional journeys of transformation. Having lived transformation herself, Aimeth spent more than two decades in New York before returning to Panama. Leaving behind cities, chapters, and losses that compelled her to reinvent herself, she discovered that life is an ongoing process of change. This revelation has become the essence of her art. Her visual language is built from fragments, cutouts, and bold layers of color, symbolizing the stages and transitions—especially those experienced by women. Recurring motifs such as circles, letters, and spontaneous marks form a symbolic vocabulary that bridges the intimate and the universal. Her intention is to invite the viewer to recognize themselves within these layers, to connect with their own changes, emotions, and spirituality, and to find in art a mirror of their own transformation. Working from her studio on the outskirts of Panama City, Aimeth creates both abstract and figurative works. She shares her art with the world through online platforms, galleries, and personalized commissions.
