About The Artwork
I was recently commissioned to paint a painting based on one of my line landscapes. With new inspiration I have started painting what I hope will keep developing over time into an ongoing collection of Line Landscapes. My, Along the Line series of landscapes. Each landscape brings new colours, Shapes, temperature, Textures and of course Lines. This first being green spaces are based in and around the UK. From inner city parks to rural Lincolnshire fields. I get so excited when taking my first photographs as I can already see the composition forming and the colours evolving as my camera focuses. Each set of paintings will have my own story however I hope that each painting evokes the viewers own memories of places they love or have visited.

Michelle graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design with a degree in Textiles Design. Her speciality was print making. Hand painting her screens gave her work a loose painterly and expressive immediacy. After collage Michelle never left London. Working on feature films in costume departments for over ten years Michelle has now returned to her first love, painting and has set up her Art studio near her home with views of the Big City. Her work usually starts with a series of her own photographs which capture a Beauty and simplicity in the human world. She then distils the compositions down to a raw, abstract, engaging interpretation through mixed media, collage and paint. The simplicity of her aesthetic belies a rigorous and frenetic work ethic which prevents her from 'overthinking' and stifling her mark making.
