ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My work is inspired by film, history, nostalgia, and the human figure in action. I have long been fascinated by the genre of western film and particularly spaghetti westerns in their affected over exaggerations of the "cool" cowboy. This painting represents an identifiable American Hero of my creation. I like to incorporate playful elements such as patterning and dots to enhance the message that this is a playful piece. Meant to engage with the viewer in a way that brings up memories and nostalgia.
