My love for plants is constantly fed by all the botanical diversity of Oaxaca. Specially succulents and cactus. The greens and blues seem to shine a loving aura. A plant that lives so many years and can survive with so little is a great metaphor for everlasting love. A little humor between a girl that likes her nails very sharp and this órgano, a kind of cactus that grows tall and thin.

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion. I am an atheist, after years of searching. I am Mexican, after two migrations. I am a grandmother and that's a priviledge. Please check my IG to see processes, inspiration and things about Oaxaca.
