ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Loosely inspired by a painting by Simon Vouet of 'Saturn conquered by Love, Venus and Hope'. I was inspired by the flow and vibrant colors of the fabrics, but in my painting I wanted to leave part to the imagination by obscuring parts with plaster like a modern fresco giving it a modern twist.

Taking a lot of inspiration from old masters, particularly from the Rococo/Baroque era, I'm especially drawn to the composition, colors & fabrics and like to put my contemporary twist on it. Painting in a very expressive way, abstract elements are explored in these figurative subjects and the spaces in between. Using a variety of media such as acrylic, charcoal, plaster & pastel I'm constantly experimenting with textures & layers to convey flow & movement. Throughout my artistic career I've exhibited widely across the United States, UK & Europe in both group and solo shows, as well as having work regularly published.
