Aqua Alta II Painting

When I was in Venice, the gondolas passed through the canals even at night, in the "aqua alta," or high water, when the porticos were flooded. The night allowed the lights to shine through the entrances and light up the porticos with a golden glow. The people who lived in the buildings live on the second floors while the first floor entrances and courtyards of those buildings are used for docking their boats. I hope you will feel the mystery and haunted past of the marvelous city of Venice.
